Global Lighting Challenge

Global Lighting Challenge

The Global Lighting Challenge, launched in the winter of 2015, is a campaign of The Clean Energy Ministerial, a forum of countries working together to promote the global transition towards clean energy generation and consumption. The Global Lighting Challenge is focused on deploying 10 billion high efficiency, high quality affordable light bulbs, in an effort to combat climate change. In June, 2017, LEDVANCE announced its commitment to selling 2.5 billion energy efficient LED Light Bulbs by 2023.

Green Build

US Green Building Council

The US Green Building Council (USGBC) was formed to promote sustainability-focused practices in the building and construction industry. The USGBC created LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, a certification program for buildings and communities that guides their design, construction, operations and maintenance toward sustainability. LEDVANCE is a long-standing member of the USGBC.

Be the Light Campaign

Be The Light Campaign

In 2017, LEDVANCED worked with the Be the Light Campaign organization to celebrate light-hearted people who lift others up through positivity – people who “Be the Light” – and to try and spark a movement of kindness. LEDVANCED launched a contest inviting the nation to nominate those who are sources of light. Winners were rewarded and recognized on our social media channels. The contest will also be conducted in Canada and as an internal LEDVANCE employee engagement campaign.
